Clinicopathological Predictors of Survival After Radical Nephroureterectomy for UTUC: A Propensity Score-Matched Multicenter Analysis.

This multicenter study of 503 patients identified which tumor and patient features best predict survival and bladder recurrence after UTUC kidney-removal surgery. It also showed that many patients' kidney function dropped below the level needed for cisplatin chemotherapy after surgery, highlighting a barrier to giving chemo afterward rather than before.

Complications following repeated ureteroscopy for UTUC: The price to pay for nephron-sparing surgery.

    • BIO
    • DET
    • SURG

This study tracked complications across 268 ureteroscopy procedures in 67 patients treated conservatively for UTUC. Nearly half had at least one complication and some developed ureteral narrowing, quantifying the real trade-offs of the repeated procedures needed to preserve the kidney.

  3. #03 PMID 41941023 Koterazawa S Aug 2026

Stage-Specific Prognostic Impact of Tumor Location in Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma: A Propensity Score-Matched Analysis.

    • DET
    • SURG

This study aimed to clarify the impact of tumor location on stage-specific survival and recurrence patterns following radical nephroureterectomy (RNU), using a large multi-institutional cohort. Tumor location in UTUC may influence stage-specific outcomes.

  4. #04 PMID 41780445 Liu T Aug 2026

Elucidating the mechanisms of aristolochic acid-induced upper tract urothelial carcinoma: A multi-omics approach combining bioinformatics and computational modeling.

    • BIO

Researchers used computer modeling and machine learning to map how aristolochic acid, a known cause of UTUC, may drive the cancer beyond simply damaging DNA, spotlighting five core genes and a strong interaction with the EGFR protein. The work suggests this environmental toxin promotes UTUC through several biological routes at once, pointing to potential new targets for prevention and treatment.

About this data

What’s shown
Only publications and trials that meet the UTUC inclusion criteria appear here — this is a curated landscape, not a raw database search.
Time windows
The 3-, 12-, and 24-month views filter publications by publication date and always show currently active trials. Completed and terminated trials appear only under All Time.
Funder attribution
Each record is attributed to its primary (first-listed) funder’s type. Because a single project can span several research areas, a record may be counted in more than one column.
Summaries
Publication summaries are generated automatically from each paper’s abstract; where no abstract was available, the summary is drawn from the title alone (noted on the card).
Sources
Compiled from PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, Crossref, and OpenAlex, and refreshed automatically — see “Last updated” above for the current snapshot.
